| Feedback: Below are some comments that I have been pleased (and flattered) to receive from visitors. Please excuse my vanity, but such comments encourage me to keep working on the site! If you have any comments to make (good or bad!), or can contribute information of any sort to the site, please contact me here. ** 17th November 2011: "My benevolences and permit me to congratulate you on your fascinating, informative and admirably well researched website. ..... I won't ramble on any more except to repeat my admiration for such a considerably researched family history which is also a most valuable social document". 18th August 2011: "I think your web site is so interesting and it is great that someone is keeping alive the old dialects etc". 
** 7th May 20: "Just a short note to say I stumbled accross this site, and the links with Hollinwood. I very much enjoyed reading about the Tuson family, and more particularly the shop in Hollins Road. Simply because as a child, this was "our shoe shop", and many is the time I went in there with shoes/clogs for mending, and used to love the smell and the clatter of the belt driven machines". He used many dialect expression naturally. They lived in the Swinton area and he had been a miner I have lived in Dorset for nearly 50 years and have just returned from a nostalgia trip to the North Manchester area. Your site added to that experience." ** 17th August 2010: "Just a quick contact to thank you for the best website I have "bumpedinto" for ages. Everything about it chimes with my interests and attitude to life. The dialect part is scholarly. ... (I thought what you wrote about the history of our family was really nice; it was very moving to see everything written down to read and bring back memories; thanks for everything and well done for such excellent work.)

A beautiful piece, very interestingly researched." ** 13th April 2009: "I have your website, saved in my Bookmarks folder- it is quite the best mill description I have found, and I have been thinking of using it to do a Wikipedia article." ** 9th April 2009: "I am writing an article for Who Do You Think You Are magazine about the British cotton industry and came across your website during my research.Would you give me permission to refer to it as a good case study of how you can research family history in this area? I think the website is a fantastic example of godd research." [Editor's note: I think the writer meant 'good' not 'godd'. I had no help from the almighty. Honest.] ** 16th March 2009: "hello, id just like to congratulate you on your site regarding lancashire dialect, im currently working on a dissertaion on dialect literature and your site really helpe give me some ideas on the subject thankyou" ** 12 February 2009: "Ah feauwnd thy seet by accident … It's a gradely seet and ah think as good as I find … Ah luv deelect writers from Tim Bobbin ta Ammon … Ah luv the Lanky Humour an' T'Trade (Cotton) … Ah find d thy seet were really great and the most comprehensive on owl geniuses lahk Ben Brierly" ** 8 February 2009: "I want to tell you how lovely your website is AND that it has helped me understand what a 'cotton piecer' does. A few people on the family tree that I'm doing were cotton piecers and I didn't know what the job entailed so looked it up on Google. Your site came up and I've found it a really interesting read... although I've not finished reading it all yet. I really like your prose style too, inserting interesting facts amongst the family material. Thank you again... I shall visit time and time again, I should think." ** 25th January 2009: "I must congratulate you on your excellent website on the Dunkerleys and all the fantastic local history you have on there. ... [Editor's note: surely 'by mistake' should read 'by chance'? Or perhaps it really was by mistake!] ** ** 24th October 2008: "I really enjoyed looking at the photos and new details on your Tuson website. ... You have certainly done an impressive amount of work on the family history. Reading it is a bit like taking part in 'Who do you think you are?'" ** 21st October 2008: I've just sat here going through everything (Well lots of it) what a superb story you have built around not just the Tuson name but all others as well. The pictures, photos, just everything is superb. Keep up your brilliant work. ** 21st October 2008: "I'm just e-mailing you to tell you what an excellent website you have created. I haven't explored it all - I just wanted to look up some good old Lancashire words for my Uni assignment on dialects... My family are also from Lancashire ... I, myself, have never lived in Lancashire so am boringly dialect-free. Well, that's all, and keep up the good work vis-a-vis the website." ** 9th October 2008: "I found your site fascinating, so much so that I didn't get to bed until the two o' clock this morning." ** 30th September 2008: " I am fascinated as to how you had the patience to find out all the historical things and then put them together. It’s brilliant. How did you manage to get all those photos together – it  must have taken a long time and many good members of the families to hand over anything they had. I did look at some of the photos relating to the gold mine – which is another interesting bit of your website." ** 3 September 2008: "I have been most impressed with the diligence of the work you have carried out…"
** 22 August 2008: "I was really impressed with your down to earth presentation on the family history - it was such a human and natural history." ** 28th July 2008: "What a very interesting web site you have produced, with an excellent Dunkerley family information. I found it very good reading. ... One day I would love to put all my information onto a web page like yours. ** ** 15th June 2008: "Thank you so much for all of the work you have done. I have been able to use the information from your web site in finding the records on microfilm for christenings, marriages and deaths. I have never been involved in original research as you have done but have tried to verify the records so that I could prove the information that I had received from other family members. So many times, all they have is dates and places without any source material. As far as I know they heard it from 'Aunt Tilley' who heard it from 'Uncle Robert'." ** 25th April 2008: "First of all I'd like to say 'what a great website you've got'." ** 22nd February 2008: "... may I congratulate you on a fantastic genealogy website – it’s the kind I wish I could write for my own family but fear I could never do it as well as you have! There is an abundance of information, all soundly backed up by evidence and explanation, is very easy to read and a great credit to you!" ** 20th February 2008: Re. article 'Joseph Dunkerley in the Militia' - " What a good article, riveting reading, your comments very succinct, continue the good work." ** 2nd January 2008: "I really enjoyed your site, thought it was well set up." ** 22nd October 2007: "You have done an excellent job investigating your family tree. I have read the site with great interest and have learnt a lot. Thank you very much." ** 21 September 2007: "I just wanted to say how interesting I found the whole report.
